Cheesequake State Park

Cheesequake State Park (12/20/2015)

It's almost impossible to believe that the last time we hiked this lovely central NJ area was more than 10 years ago! And, checking through my photos, it was the first and only time! So of course we had to return today and hike some of the same trails as last time but some news ones as well.

Using this map we parked at the lot on the park road where nearly all the trails begin. We headed on Blue/Green/Red to nearly its western tip, taking a woods road (double dashed line on the map), to Hooks Creek Lake Day Use Area. We skirted the southern bank of Hooks Creek Lake until we reached the NE part at which point we turned back and found Yellow at the southern bank. We took Yellow back to Blue/Green/Red, continuing on Green for the rest of the hike.

Total distanced hiked today was 5.9 miles in about 3 hours.
