Closter Nature Center

Closter Nature Center (11/13/2010)

When we did this hike, we were adding to the Hike of the Week for 11/11/2010 as seen on the NYNJTC website by following this map and adding (a) the tiny stroll around the pond behind the visitor's center, (b) the lollipop of the blue trail and (c) the lollipop of the orange trail. At that time the stroll on the white trail along the stream was very pretty, and we discovered lots of stubborn fall foliage (mostly on beech trees) on the orange trail.

A subsequent Hike of the Week appeared on 6/16/2011 incorporated the addiitonal blue loop and orange lollipop that we had done. So, in essence this collection corresponds to that new hike, except that instead of heading south along the white trail, the new hike has you heading south along an unmarked parth (on the other side of the stream).

Total distance covered today was 2 miles in about 90 minutes.
