Duke Farms (Northwest)

Northwest Duke Farms (8/11/2014)

This was our third stroll in three months in this fun place. With today's visit we have walked the vast majority of paths in the place. There are still a few segments left and perhaps in the future I can cobble together something to cover those. Like last time, we followed a series of trails too complicated to list here, but our aim this time was to hit the northern and far northwest sections, including Heron Lake, Frog Lake and Wood Duck Lake, the parts furthest from the parking area. It was in that area far north where we saw an injured red fox, limping east off the circle of Frog Lake Way. He even sat down at one point to lick his injured leg, poor thing. We reported it to the staff inside the orientation center before having lunch inside the cafe.

Total distance hiked today was 5.6 miles in exactly 3 hours.
