Greenway Meadows

Greenway Meadows (12/11/2016)

This was the second of two areas we visited today in central New Jersey and by far the most extensive and interesting.

Using this map, we parked in the large parking area west of the Johnson Education Center and first headed south on the Stony Brook Brail, which parallels the lovely Stony Brook. We crossed the impressive 60-foot pedestrian bridge and continued all the way to Route 206, where we turned around and retraced out steps back to Rosedale Road. We crossed the road, continuing north to the end of the trail, then continued on the Johnson Trolley Line paved path (where we saw a red box, and I got two photos!). We retraced back to Red in the J. Seward Johnson Sr. Woodland Preserve, then headed south on Yellow, crossing Rosedale again and then hiked the western loop of the Poetry Trail before arrived back at the car.

Total distance hiked was about 5 miles in about 2.5 hours.
