Los Angeles - Day 1 (11/15/2006)
Fresh off the plane, Laura and I headed north from downtown Los Angeles to Hollywood
Forever Cemetery. Laura, who is writing a biography of silent film star Karl Dane,
wanted to lay flowers on Karl's grave. The rear of Paramount Studios is
adjacent to the rear of the cemetary. We then headed to Hollywood Boulevard, visiting
Larry Edmunds Bookshop (the largest selection of new and used movie books in perhaps
the world). We ate at Miceli's, the oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood. Then we
walked up and down Hollywood Boulevard, alight with color.
