Loveless Nature Preserve
The leaves are almost completely off the trees in northern New Jersey, so we headed back south to central NJ this weekend to visit a few more smaller preserves, all within a five-minute car ride of each other. This was the first of three areas we visited today.

Using the map for Hike 11 in this brochure, we parked in the lot on Eggert's Crossing Road and headed north into the preserve. We first did the lollipop north, then tried heading east on what is marked "Blazed Trail" but couldn't find it, so we headed east a bit further south, reaching the Johnson Trolley Line South. We took this north all the way to the football field of Rider University before turning back and taking the trolley back to Eggerts Crossing Road and then walked less than one block west to get back to the car.

Total distance hiked was 3 miles in about an hour and 15 minutes.
