This was another find of my friends Daniela and Shawnee who hiked this area just
six days ago. Today, using
this map, we followed their track from six days ago exactly.
It's a very varied hike, through different types of woods, along and across streams, past old abandoned water tanks and cabin ruins. We covered the majority of
the trails in the preserve, but not all of them. That would have required back-tracking or repeating certain segments. But what's the hurry. It's surely worth
another visit in a different season to do the White trail, and the parts of Yellow and Red that we didn't work in this time around.
Total distance hiked today was 5 miles in about 2 hours and 45 minutes.
