Manasquan Reservoir

Manasquan Reservoir (4/5/2017)

This place has been on our list for a long time. But since it's almost 100% paved, and very crowded on the weekends, it's stayed on our list awaiting the most opportune time. Well, after both of us were sick as dogs for well over a week, we decided to take a day off in the middle of the week to do the loop. And it was perfect, not difficult at all, not crowded, and the weather today was amazing!

Using the map on the second page of the park brochure we parked at the main lot at the visitor's center. After visiting the center we headed east, first doing the Wetland Spur, and then the paved reservoir loop. The views at the northern side are very nice. We continued south aong the dike, where folks were fishing, then continued on the Bracken Trail for another nice view, near the Environmental Center. We skipped the Cove Trail and instead headed back to the car.

Total distance hiked today was about 5.8 miles in 2.5 hours.
