Muddy Run Preserve

Muddy Run Preserve (11/27/2016)

This was the second of three areas we visited today in Central New Jersey, all within a 5 or 6 minute car ride from each other. This was a disappointment for us.

Using this map, we parked at the preserve sign on Kingwood-Locktown Road (40.473163, -75.013175 to be precise), and headed north along the western edge of the trees separting two areas of flat land. We headed north, looking for blazes, but found none. Twice we saw faint traces of trails going into the woods that ended just feet later, one at a slate wall and another at a hunting chair. We searched for blazes for at least 20 minutes before deciding to head back to the car. If anyone hikes here soon, and finds the trail, please let me know. Here is our pitiful track.

Total distance hiked was 0.8 miles in 25 minutes.
