It's hard to believe that the last time we hiked this beautiful, rugged area was nearly
nine years ago. At that time we were following a Hike of the Week from the
New York-New Jersey Trail Conference. We returned today to do a different route, covering the trails from nearly a decade ago and some
new ones. Our route can be seen here. We did
every trail on the map (except for the Highlands trail between White and Staats Road) as well as the rail trail (not really indicated
on the map), all the way from the Paper Mill to Pine Run to the east, and then back. It should be noted that the trail blazes in the park
do not necessarily follow the colors on the map.
Total distance hiked today was 6.2 miles in under 3.5 hours.
