Harriman Long Path

Harriman Long Path, Harriman State Park (7/20/2008)

This beautiful figure-8 hike is the invention of my friend Andy. It traverses lots of variable terrain in Harriman, half of which is on the Long Path.

Starting at the Lake Skannatati parking area on Seven Lakes Drive, head north on the Arden-Surebridge to Times Square. Make a left here onto the Ramapo-Dunderberg trail and climb Hogencamp Mountain. Just after Ship Rock, make a right onto the short but beautiful Lichen trail, taking this to its intersection with the Arden-Surebridge/Long Path. Make a right here and head east back to Times Square. Just beyond Times Square continue on the Long Path back to the parking area. Total distance is 7 miles.
