Allis Trail

Allis Trail, Sterling Forest (10/28/2018)

This is the sixth hike we've done in Sterling Forest this year, all within the last two months. Today we hiked a section of the Allis trail that we had never done before. We parked in P8, crossed the road and headed north along the Allis trail until we reached the powerline cut, a bit south of where the Doris Duke trail meets the Allis. After taking in the views in the powerline cute, we retraced out steps back to the car.

Total distance hiked today was 5 miles in just over 3 hours. There was a bit more fall foliage here than last week, but a good percentage of the leaves are already on the ground (no doubt a result of the noreaster that passed through this past week). This is probably not a good sign for colors this season, but we'll see.
