Bee Meadow Pond

Bee Meadow Pond (4/15/2022)
We didn't intend to hike this area today. We planned on hiking Patriot's Path in Troy Meadows Wetland from the parking lot on South Beverwyck Road. The last time we hiked this was way back in 2006. Well, we didn't get very far. As soon as we came to the right turn on the PP, it was impassable because of flooding. So, we headed back to the car and drove to Bee Meadow Pond. And we were so glad we did.

Even though we hiked only an hour, the pond is very picturesque, with lots of water birds, including beautiful swans, egrets and cormorants. And there was other wildlife too. Using this map, we parked near the upper green star and headed west on the trail colored red on the map (none of the trails are actually blazed). We then headed south on the eastern bank to where Red meets Orange on the map. We then continued on Orange in a clockwise direction along the southern bank all the way back to Red, and then to the car.

Total distance covered today was 1.4 miles in one hour.
