Fairview Farm

Fairview Farm (10/14/2018)

This is the first time we visited this lovely area in Central Jersey. We intended to cover just about every trail in the place, but encountered some very serious overgrowth in two areas: the majority of the light blue trail on the western boundary of the park, and the yellow triangle south of the entance on the eastern side. It should be noted that the colors on the website map to do necessarily correspond to the colors in the park. In fact, blazes on most of the trails are few and far between. There was a county fair here last weekend, but today we didn't encounter another person at all, though there was another car parked next to ours at the visitor's center when we got back to the car. It's a nice, little area, for the most part level, that traverses forests, open fields, and even loops a small pond. After the hike you can enjoy a couple of gardens on the grounds.

Total distance hiked today was 4.5 miles in just over 3 hours, some of this meandering in the flower garden afterwards. You can see our track here.
