Jenny Jump
I don't think we have hiked the summit trail in Jenny Jump State Forest since 2005! So, given today was Halloween, we decided to head to the place near Shades of Death Row and Ghost Lake, and the site of the legend of the girl who jumped off the cliff to escape a worse fate.

Using this map, we parked in the Day Use lot at the northern end of the Jenny Jump trail, then walked the paved road past the cabins (all of them were being used), to the western end of the yellow-blazed Summit trail (it's shown as orange on the map). We did the Summit trail in a counter-clockwise direction. Some of the views were obstructed by clouds and it drizzled for a few minutes. At the northern end, we went left to continue, eventually ending at a campsite with two rustic bathrooms, and then followed the paved road south. We next turned right on the white-blazed Orchard trail, for the most spectacular yellow colors of the entire hike. When it reached the edge of a field we could see the Delaware Water Gap. We continued on White, following the planet signs until we reached the sun at the end. It's a pretty nifty idea, spacing the planet signs in relation to the sun's sign to scale, with a small circle on each sign representing how large the planet would be in that scale model.

At the end of the white trail, we walked the road back to the car. But it was too early to eat, so we hiked a bit of the blue-blazed Jenny Jump Trail, before turning back and eating lunch at a picnic table near the lot where we parked.

Total distance today was just under 4 miles in two hours and 40 minutes.
