Lake-to-Lake Loop

Lake-to-Lake Loop, Sterling Forest (9/24/2018)

We returned to Sterling Forest once again to hike a bit more of the Lake-to-Lake trail, this time incorporating it into a very beautiful loop, with visits to a picturesque swamp, and an amazing view over Greenwood Lake. We parked in parking lot P14 on the eastern side of the lake, and took the Lake-to-Lake trail south, then east to the green-blazed West Valley trail. The swamp east of this trail is beautiful, with a big beaver lodge in the middle. Continuing north we headed west on the red-blazed Fire Tower trail, which we took back to the car, but not before having lunch at an amazing viewpoint over Greenwood Lake, with an enchanting wood bear and rock doubling as a perfect little bench.

Total distance hiked today was 3.5 miles in over 2 hours and 40 minutes.
