This is hike #6 ("Eagle Cliff") in the Central and Southern New Hampshire section of the book
New Hampshire Hiking (First Edition).
This was the last of six hikes we did over four days in New Hampshire the week of June 9. This out-and-back offered views of Squam Lake from another side of the lake than that of the West Rattlesnake hike that we took earlier in the week. This one offered quite a treat -- within the first few minutes of climbing, we encountered a porcupine! This was the first time we had ever seen one in the wild.
