Oregon - Day 10 (7/20/2007)
After first eating breakfast at the Café Sintra in Bend, we checked out of our hotel and headed for Portland. We passed Mt. Hood again but it was in clouds.
After arriving in Portland, we spent some time at Powell's, one of the largest bookstores in the world,
where we also had a light lunch. We then walked around Chinatown, through the Old town and through Tom McCall Waterfront Park along the Willamette River. We then
drove to the International Rose Test Garden in Washington Park, where we marvelled at
the nearly infinite variety of roses present. It took us a very long
time (possibly two hours) to get to our hotel (the Courtyard Marriott on Airport Way) just 6-7 miles outside of Portland during Friday rush hour traffic. Safely
checked in, we had dinner at the Courtyard Cafe in the hotel before getting to sleep early for our very early flight back home. It was a wonderful vacation.
