Point Mountain, North Section

Point Mountain, Northern Section, Lebanon Township, New Jersey (3/13/2021)

We hiked this preserve five years ago, returning today to do it in the reverse direction. Despite having several days with temperatures in the 60s, the snow is still on the ground in places in northern New Jersey. So we had to put on our Kahtoola EXOspikes immediately upon leaving the car, given that the parking area was basically a sheet of ice!

Using this map we parked in the lot off Old Turnpike Road (you may need an SUV to get into this lot) and headed into the preserve on White. We took White to Blue, then continued on Blue heading east. We continued until the end of Blue where it once again meets White. This short section of Blue (between Red and White) is a section we hadn't done last time. We next took White east to Red, which we took north back to Blue. Here we repeated that short section of Blue and finally headed back to the car on White and then Orange, which follows the perimiter of corn fields.

Total distance hiked today was 2.6 miles in just over two hours.
