Pyramid Mountain, Reblazed

Pyramid Mountain, Reblazed, Pyramid Mountain Natural Historic Area (3/22/2021)

Two days ago we hiked the Turkey Mountain section of this fully-reblazed park. Today I returned with my friend Matt to do some power hiking in the Pyramid Mountain secion. This is the third hike I have done with Matt, and when we go hiking we hike quite fast, and the conversation is lively. So I don't have time to stop to take many photos. Our last two hikes were in January, both in Jockey Hollow. I have no photos from those hikes. But today I did manage to take a few photos during our vigourous hike where we discussed topics as varied as camping to why Mary had to be present at Calvary. It's true!

Using this map, we met in the Visitor's Center parking lot and heading west on Blue. At the fork we went right, continuing on Blue along the bank of the reservoir, until we reached Orange. Here we turned left and continued on Orange all the way to Bear Rock. We crossed the stream and took the unblazed trail steeply up the mountain east back to Blue. We made a left on Blue and headed north to visit Tripod Rock. Then we took Blue south to Lucy's Overlook, where we had lunch. We continued south on Blue, staying on the ridge, until we descended sharply back the car.

Total distance hiked today was 5 miles in 2 hours and 30 minutes, with some serious climbing.
