Highland Ridge & Evans FFP
We hiked this varied area nearly almost seven years ago. At that time it was the beginning of winter, all of the leaves were off the trees. This time, near the end of summer, it had a completely different look to it. So it felt as if we had never hiked it before.

Using this map, we parked in the lot across the street from Black River Middle School and headed SE on the Patriot's Path. Then we followed the unmarked road which leads to the Yellow trail inside the Evans Preserve. This we took in the easterly direction to Red, which we took south, to where it meets Blue. We took Blue in the clockwise direction back to the first intersection with Yellow, which we took west. Making a left on the Patriot's Path, we took the third unmarked path to the right back to Patriot's Path, passing the tiny pond to the right. Eventually we passed the Telephone Pole Farm on the left, and then the barn, and ascended the hill back to the car.

Total distance hiked today was 4.2 miles in about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
